Psalm 34:15-16 MSG “Turn your back on sin; do something good. Embrace peace—don’t let it get away! God keeps an eye on his friends, his ears pick up every moan and groan.”
Do you know the Bible tells us to embrace a few things? Wisdom, good friends, and peace - to name a few. But what does it look like to truly give peace a big hug? Today’s Psalm gives us some practical tips for how to embrace peace.
Scroll up now and see if you can find 2 to 3 things? 1. We don’t participate in sin. 2. We do good instead. The 3rd one is a little hidden… 3. We tell God about it instead (moan and groan). So God does not expect us to push down our feelings, but we can bring them to Him instead. If we do that, He gives us peace.
Embracing peace, means letting go of conflicts, drama, and gossip.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for not dismissing my feelings. I see Your invitation in today’s verse to embrace peace & I want to try. Would you show me how to turn my back on sin, do what is good, and bring my feelings to You. Amen.
Challenge: Bring your own emotions to God now with this prayer: “God, I want to release control over _______ over to You and welcome peace instead…”
