Romans 3:23 MSG “We are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us, God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.”
Imagine two hills with a big gap between them. The one hill is full of life. There’s a waterfall, the grass is green, and it looks lovely. The sun shines over there. But you are standing on the other hill. The ground is cracked, there are no signs of life, and it looks lonely. You try to jump across the gap, but fall short every time.
Then, a big bridge of wood appears and it allows you to walk over into abundant life. That is what the cross of Jesus did. He became the bridge so that we can be near God. We could not get it right on our own, but He made a way!
Jesus came to restore our relationship with God.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for coming up with the perfect solution so that I can have direct access to You. I now know that Jesus came so that I can have a full life with You. Thank You for saving me from being stuck in suffering, Amen.
Challenge: Draw the bridge diagram described above: the 2 hills, one full of life, one without it, the cross in the middle. Who can you share this picture with today?
